Overview
SAP HR (Human Resource management), also known as "Human Capital Management" (HCM), is module in SAP ERM (enterprise resource management) system.
SAP Connectivity Options
The best SAP connectivity option for your organization depends on your existing technology landscape. Options should be reviewed by your SAP team to determine which is the best solution for your organization. Your SAP team will typically need to be involved in setting up a connection between OrgChart and SAP.

Option | Description |

SAP XML | SAP can be configured to generate an XML file (known as an IDoc) containing HR data. The generated XML file can be pushed via FTP/SFTP to a drop folder in your OrgChart account, or manually uploaded to your account. OrgChart has a built-in 'SAP XML' connector that can be used to process SAP XML files. NoteNote: An IDoc is an SAP object that carries data of a business transaction from one system to another in the form of electronic message. IDoc is an acronym for Intermediate Document. The purpose of an IDoc is to transfer data or information from SAP to other systems and vice versa. The transfer from SAP to non-SAP system is done via EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) subsystems. |
SAP RFC | A Remote Function Call (RFC) is the call or remote execution of a Remote Function Module in SAP. In the SAP system, these functions are provided by the RFC interface system. OrgChart has a built-in 'SAP RFC' connector that can query SAP. Typically, the SAP RFC interface cannot be accessed outside of an organization's firewall (but not always). |
SAPA HANA | SAP HANA is an in-memory, column-oriented, relational database management system developed and marketed by SAP. Its primary function as a database server is to store and retrieve data as requested by the external applications, such as OrgChart. SAP HANA may or may not be accessible outside of an organization's firewall. that can query SAP. The SAP HANA may or may not be accessible outside of an organization's firewall. |
Other Reporting Tools | There are many third party (and native) reporting tools available for SAP. These tools can be used to generate flat files (CSV) that can be imported into OrgChart (using the Excel/CSV connector). Flat file can be pushed via FTP/SFTP to a drop folder in your OrgChart account or can be manually uploaded to your account. |
